Baby Teresa gives you an opportunity to Buy Once, Share Twice. When you purchase a Baby Teresa
onesie, the baby you purchase it for gets a gorgeous outfit and so does another baby, one you don't know but one in need. That
other baby could be anywhere in the world from an orphanage in Vietnam, a small village in Africa or
a family in need in Australia. Baby Teresa allows you to feel twice as good about the one gift.

In this day and age, dollars can be scarce, but the desire to make a greater impact on the world around us is as strong as ever. Baby Teresa gives people the opportunity to buy a fabulous gift for a baby they know, and at the same time provide a functional outfit for a baby they’ll never know, but who needs that outfit.
Launched in September, 2009 Baby Teresa’s first charitable all-in-one baby outfit donations were completed in the founder’s home state of Tasmania to benevolent organisations assisting mother’s with new borns in need. From there, the donations have continued to Egypt, Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, the Philippines, Jordan and more with Sammie and Kirsty’s goal being to clothe a baby in every country in the world!
What are people saying?
It wasn’t until I had my own baby that I realized how unfair it is that not every baby in the world is as loved and well provided for as my own. With Baby Teresa I get the fun of shopping for my own child, and the knowledge that I’m helping another child as well. It’s a great feeling. Bella Fountain
I’ve spent the better part of the last 3 years over working with disadvantaged children, orphaned children and children that have been abandoned and I’ve seen how excited they get about something so simple as having something new to wear. It’s the small things that we really take for granted back home. So many children over here have never ever had a single new thing to wear - in orphanages, shelters and poor families it is always hand-me-downs and not enough. Children in the Western world are such an important, treasured part of our lives. It's our culture to keep them safe, loved and to be able to spoil them! Its great to be able to give people the opportunity to still partake in that mind set while being able to benefit a less fortunate child overseas at the same time. Carrie Hesketh
I love that when I buy a cute outfit from Baby Teresa for my son, it also will support a less fortunate child somewhere else in the world. Retail therapy and meaningful contribution rolled into one – what a winning approach! Sara Redman
It’s always so hard to find something “meaningfully different” to help friends celebrate the arrival of their beautiful baby – now Baby Teresa offers a gorgeous and useful gift idea, a way to keep generosity and goodwill circulating throughout global communities in need and supports sassy local entrepreneurs... couldn’t think of much better! Thank you – from me and the beautiful babies that can’t express themselves yet -they really, really thank you. Janie Finlay
About the Founders
Baby Teresa is the passion project of Sammie Appleyard and Kirsty Dunphey, both Tasmanian entrepreneurs with a global focus.
Sammie Appleyard (CFO – Chief Funk Officer)
Sammie is the retailing and design brain of this outfit and prior to starting Baby Teresa had her own gorgeous retail outlet Funky Homes. With a background in interior design and a savvy yet stylish view of the world keep your eyes peeled for this to come through in Sammie's colour pallet with Baby Teresa.
Kirsty Dunphey (CDO – Chief Donation Officer)
Kirsty is one of Australia’s best known young female entrepreneurs and has had a passion for creating businesses since almost before she could walk. She started her first real business (real meaning this one wasn't selling pirate video tapes in primary school) at age 15. This lead on to a successful career in real estate opening her own agency at 21 until her retirement at the grand old age of 27. Kirsty's written books, spoken all over the world and started businesses. The opportunity to combine her philanthropic streak with business is what excites Kirsty about Baby Teresa.
What inspires us: We've both had our own businesses before and we've both volunteered and
donated to charitable causes, but we set up Baby Teresa so that we could make an ongoing and
consistent impact on the world around us. The aspect of charitable giving is fundamental to this
business and it's what we're all about. Taking our inspiration from the Mother Teresa quote "If you
can't feed 1,000 people, then feed one." we decided that we'd make our impact one baby at a time.
We're inspired by so many people including Mother Teresa, Blake Mycoskie founder of Toms Shoes, John Wood from Room to Read,
Lance Armstrong and Matt Flannery founder of Kiva. We're also inspired by our customers, each one of
whom makes a huge difference in their own way.
